In a former Royal Air Force drill hall, the museum contains exhibits about western Canada's aviation history. Aircraft displayed include an F86 Sabre jet, a Bell 476 helicopter and one of the few remaining World War I Sopwith Triplanes. Also featured are piston and jet aircraft engines, aviation artwork and a Martin Baker ejection seat.

The tower rises 191 metres (626 ft.) above the city. An observation deck and revolving restaurant provide a panorama of the city and the nearby Rocky Mountains. The observation deck features a glass floor and glass walls, which create in visitors the sensation of floating high above the city. A torch atop the tower burned nonstop during the 1988 Olympic Games; it is illuminated on special occasions.

Devonian Gardens 317 7th Ave. S.W. Calgary AB T2P 2Y9 CAN Phone: (403) 221-3941 Devonian Gardens is on the 4th level of Toronto Dominion Square, 317 7th Ave. S.W. These 1-hectare (2.5-acre) glassed-in, indoor gardens contain 15,700 subtropical trees, plants, fish and turtles as well as waterfalls, fountains and a reflecting pool. Monthly exhibits display works by local artists. A 100-seat amphitheater occasionally hosts shows at noon.
Family of Man 515 Macleod Tr. S.E. Calgary AB T2G 2L9 CAN Family of Man is outside the Calgary Board of Education Building at 515 Macleod Tr. S.E. This grouping of sculpted metal figures stands 6.5 metres (21 ft.) tall. Originally commissioned as part of Great Britain's exhibit for Expo 67, the statues were created by Mario Armengol. Nude and lacking a discernible race, the figures extend their arms and hands in gestures of goodwill and friendship.

Photographs, artifacts, uniforms and equipment depict the history of the city's firefighters. A collection of 1890-1974 restored fire engines and other equipment also is featured.

The 16-hectare (40-acre) riverside park contains a reconstruction of an 1875 North West Mounted Police fort and its 1888 barracks and the Deane House Historic Site, the last remaining building from the site's days as a garrison. Interactive exhibits, costumed interpreters, hands-on activities and audiovisual presentations tell the story of the site, the settlement and the people of Calgary 1875-present.
Heritage Park Historical Village 1900 Heritage Dr. S.W. Calgary AB T2V 2X3 CAN Phone: (403) 268-8500 Heritage Park Historical Village is 2.5 km (1.5 mi.) w. off Queen Elizabeth II Hwy. to 1900 Heritage Dr. S.W. The re-created pre-1914 village is on 27 hectares (66 acres). The village reflects the fur trade of the 1860s, the pre-railway settlements of the 1880s and businesses and residences 1900-14. Among the park's more than 150 exhibits are a general store, an antique midway, pioneer farm machinery and a Hudson's Bay Co. trading post. Most of the buildings are originals that have been moved to the park. An antique steam train circles the park, and a 200-passenger stern-wheeler cruises Glenmore Reservoir.

Self-guiding trails wind throughout the forest, where some 280 species of birds and various mammals have been sighted. Natural history programs and guided nature walks also are offered.
The Naval Museum of Alberta 1820 24th St. S.W. Calgary AB T2T 0G6 CAN Phone: (403) 242-0002 The Naval Museum of Alberta is at 1820 24th St. S.W. Exhibits present the history of the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, which existed 1910-68, together with Canada's Merchant Marine. A display commemorates Canadians who served in World Wars I and II and the Korean War. Housed in the building are the only three fighter aircraft flown by the Canadian Navy.
